INFORMATION ABOUT COOKIES

Due to the modification of the “Law on Services of the Information Society” (LSSICE) established by Royal Decree 13/2012, it is mandatory to obtain the user’s express consent on all web pages that use non-essential cookies before they navigate through them.

WHAT ARE COOKIES?

Cookies and similar technologies such as local shared objects, flash cookies, or pixels are tools used by web servers to store and retrieve information about their visitors, as well as to ensure proper site functionality. These devices allow the web server to remember certain user-related data, such as preferences for viewing pages from that server, name and password, most interesting products, etc.

COOKIES AFFECTED BY THE REGULATION AND EXEMPT COOKIES

According to the EU directive, cookies that require informed user consent are analytical cookies, advertising cookies, and affiliation cookies, while technical cookies and those necessary for the website’s operation or the provision of services expressly requested by the user are exempt.

WHAT TYPES OF COOKIES EXIST?

There are five main groups of cookies:

  • Analytical Cookies: Collect information on the use of the website.
  • Social Cookies: Necessary for external social networks.
  • Affiliate Cookies: Allow tracking of visits from other websites with which the website has an affiliation contract (affiliate companies).
  • Advertising and Behavioral Cookies: Collect information about the user’s preferences and personal choices (retargeting).
  • Technical and Functional Cookies: Strictly necessary for the use of the website and for providing the contracted service.

COOKIES USED ON THIS WEBSITE

  • PHPSESSID: Technical cookie, strictly necessary, containing the session identifier. It is deleted when the browser is closed.
  • _lang: Technical cookie, strictly necessary, containing the session language. It is deleted when the browser is closed.
  • ac_cookies: Technical cookie, strictly necessary, containing the value of whether cookie installation has been accepted. Expires 1 year after the last update.
  • _ga: Google Analytics cookie that enables the function of distinguishing unique visits. The first time a user enters the website through a browser, this cookie will be installed. When this user returns to the site with the same browser, the cookie will recognize that it is the same user. Only if the user changes the browser, will they be considered a different user. Expires 2 years after the last update.
  • _gat: This cookie is associated with Google Analytics. It is used to limit the request rate – limiting the collection of data on high traffic sites. Expires 10 minutes after creation.
  • _gid: This cookie is associated with Google Analytics. It is used to distinguish users. Expires 24 hours after creation.

HOW TO DELETE COOKIES FROM THE BROWSER

Chrome

  1. Select the Tools icon.
  2. Click on Settings.
  3. Click on Show Advanced Settings.
  4. In the “Privacy” section, click on Content Settings.
  5. Delete cookies: Click on All cookies and site data…
  6. Do not allow cookies to be stored.
  7. Click on Clear Browsing Data (empty the Cache).
  8. Close and restart the browser.

Internet Explorer. Versión 11

  1. Select Tools | Internet Options.
  2. Click on the General tab.
  3. In the “Browsing History” section, click on Delete browsing history on exit.
  4. Select Delete Files.
  5. Select Delete Cookies.
  6. Click on Delete.
  7. Click on OK.
  8. Close and restart the browser.

Firefox. Versión 18

  1. Select Firefox | History | Clear Recent History.
  2. Next to “Details,” click the down arrow.
  3. Select the following checkboxes: Cookies, Cache, Active Logins.
  4. Using the “Time range to clear” dropdown menu, select All.
  5. Click on Clear Now.
  6. Close and restart the browser.

You can accept or reject cookies individually in Firefox Preferences, in the History section available under Tools > Options > Privacy.

Safari Versión 5.1

  1. Select the Safari icon / Edit | Reset Safari.
  2. Select the following checkboxes: Clear History, Delete all website data.
  3. Click on Reset.
  4. Close and restart the browser.
